victoria-by-the-sea / landmark cafe

a few days after i arrived, it was recommended that i go to this little place called the landmark cafe.
since i didnt know where i was going i just started driving
but i did get lucky and found it

this place is awesome.  i got there the last day they are open for the season.  they told me that the day before, the food network had been there filming all day.
 sweet deal.

"Recommended in "Where to Eat in Canada" the Landmark Cafe is located in what used to be Annie Craig’s Grocery Store and Post Office at the centre of the Village of Victoria kitty corner from the Victoria Playhouse."

this is inside the cafe.  the whole place has funky stuff everywhere

i had the seafood chowder

and the cajun scallop stir fry

rocked my world !

all the rest of the shots are from around the village of victoria

this one is on the way home

well, home for now anyway :)

goderich to PEI - the journey

 20 hours 36 minutes
1880 km
by myself
the link below shows the route i took
im ready.  the trunk is full and all this stuff still has to go in the car
...necessities

1.5 hours to kitchener to see my youngest pooch and my son before i go
then another hour to toronto where my oldest pooch lives
time for some refreshments
the first pic with my daughter, the second with my bro

the place is called bread & butter
 eastern european deli
507 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4S, CA
1-(416)-488-0036
3 hours to kingston to my other brothers
then 10.5 hours the next day
heres the quebec border

i missed the new brunswick sign  but finally arrived in grand falls new brunswick

this is a beautiful spot.  check out the link for info.
its a 23 meter falls (the largest in canada east of niagara falls) but it is used for electricity so i could see the gorge but not the falls
i will go back

next day approx 4.5 hours to my destination
on the road again

since i had such a short drive today, i decided to stop at magnetic hill in moncton, NB

in neutral, my car actually went UP the hill
its so fun i did it 3 times

the pic below shows the hill and the front of my car

the last segment of the journey is confederation bridge

"The Confederation Bridge joins the eastern Canadian provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, making travel throughout the Maritimes easy and convenient. The curved, 12.9 kilometre (8 mile) long bridge is the longest in the world crossing ice-covered water, and a decade after its construction, it endures as one of Canada’s top engineering achievements of the 20th century."

theres even a bridge cam on the website..... SO cool

AND, just as im getting on the bridge, i scan the radio for some tunes
i find a station called DOG radio, from halifax nova scotia and the song that comes on is
bowie, rebel rebel.... serious

thats usually how i know that im on the right path

and here i am.....

a long post, but it was a long journey

i will draw a winner for those goodies before my next post
